Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Nexrara ("we", "us", "our") handles your information when you use the Aegis iOS app ("the App"). Aegis is a study aid for the NCLEX-RN nursing licensure exam.

The short version: Aegis has no account and no servers. Everything you enter or answer stays on your iPhone. We do not collect, receive, or sell your personal data. The only third party involved is Apple, which processes Aegis Pro purchases.

What the App stores on your device

The App keeps the following on your iPhone so it can run and personalize your study plan. None of it is sent to us.

  • Study profile — the name you optionally enter, your exam date, daily study target, self-reported confidence, and the weak areas you select during onboarding.
  • Question attempts — which questions you answered, the option you chose, whether it was correct, and how long it took.
  • Session timestamps — when you studied, used to compute your streak and readiness score.
  • Free-tier counters — how many free questions, case studies, and mock exams you have used today.

This data is stored in the App's private storage on your device. It is included in your iCloud or iTunes device backup if you have backups enabled, under Apple's backup privacy terms. Deleting the App deletes all of it.

What we do not collect

  • We do not operate an account system. There is no email, password, or sign-in.
  • We do not run servers that receive your study data. The App does not transmit your profile or answers anywhere.
  • We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, microphone, or device identifiers.
  • We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or attribution SDKs.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites and we do not sell personal information.

Aegis Pro purchases

Aegis offers an optional paid plan, Aegis Pro, sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system using StoreKit 2. We do not use a third-party subscription processor.

  • Apple handles all payment information. Your card, billing address, and Apple ID credentials are never sent to or stored by us.
  • What the App checks: whether your Apple ID currently holds an active Aegis Pro entitlement, so it knows which features to unlock. This check happens on your device through StoreKit.
  • What we can see: aggregate, anonymized sales and subscription reports in App Store Connect, as provided by Apple to all developers. These reports do not identify you.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Apple's handling of your purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Support email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to respond to you and we keep the thread for as long as needed to resolve your request. We do not add support contacts to any marketing list.

This website

Our website is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and operations. We do not place analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy first.

Your rights and controls

Because your data lives on your device, you control it directly:

  • Access — your profile, plan, and performance are visible inside the App.
  • Correct — edit your study plan in Settings → Study plan.
  • Reset answers — Settings → Reset all progress wipes every recorded answer and keeps your profile.
  • Delete everything — Settings → Danger zone → Delete all data permanently removes your profile, study plan, and all answers from the device. Deleting the App has the same effect.

Residents of the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with privacy laws have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data. Since we hold no personal data about you, these rights are fully exercised through the controls above. If you believe we hold any data about you, email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

The NCLEX-RN is a professional licensure exam taken by adults. The App is not directed at children under 13, and because the App collects no data, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Security

Your study data is protected by your device's own security: iOS sandboxing, device encryption, and your passcode or Face ID. Purchases are protected by Apple's StoreKit. If you discover a vulnerability in the App or this website, email support@nexrara.com with [Security] in the subject.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. If we ever begin collecting data, for example by adding accounts, sync, or analytics, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy labels before that feature ships.
