Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Aegis iOS application ("the App"), provided by Nexrara ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. The App is a study aid, not medical, legal, or licensure advice

Aegis is a personal study tool for the NCLEX-RN nursing licensure exam. It is not a substitute for:

  • accredited NCLEX preparation programs,
  • your nursing school's curriculum,
  • official NCSBN study materials, or
  • licensed medical, legal, or professional advice.

Always verify clinical content against official NCSBN resources and your textbooks before applying it in nursing practice or relying on it for licensure decisions. The readiness score and the mock exam pass/fail prediction are estimates. We make no guarantees about exam outcomes.

2. NCLEX is a registered trademark

NCLEX® and NCLEX-RN® are registered trademarks of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN). Nexrara and Aegis are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by NCSBN. We reference the NCLEX-RN exam only descriptively, to identify what the App helps you prepare for.

3. Eligibility and your device

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, whichever is higher) to use the App. The App does not require an account. Your study data is stored on your device and you are responsible for the device and its backups. We cannot recover study data that is deleted from your device.

4. License to use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial study.

You may not:

  • copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the App;
  • scrape, bulk-export, redistribute, or republish the App's questions, rationales, or case studies;
  • use the App or its content to develop a competing product;
  • circumvent the free-tier limits or the Aegis Pro entitlement check;
  • use the App in any way that violates law or these Terms.

The App, including all questions, rationales, case studies, and design, is owned by Nexrara and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

5. Free tier and Aegis Pro

The App is free to download and use with daily limits on practice questions, case studies, and mock exams. Aegis Pro removes those limits and unlocks additional features, as described in the App and on our pricing page.

  • Purchases are made through Apple. All billing, renewals, trials, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms. Prices are shown in the App in your local currency.
  • Auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly, 3-month, annual) renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel them in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the paid period.
  • Free trial. Where offered, a trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled before then. Trials are limited to one per Apple ID.
  • Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that does not renew. It applies to the Aegis iOS app for as long as we offer it on the App Store.
  • Restore. Pro is tied to your Apple ID. Use "Restore purchases" in the App to unlock it on another device.
  • Refunds are at Apple's discretion and must be requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

We may change prices or the features included in each tier for future purchases. Changes to an active subscription price are communicated by Apple in advance and require your consent where Apple's rules require it.

6. Content accuracy

We work to keep clinical content accurate and aligned with the current NCSBN test plan, but we cannot guarantee that every question, rationale, or explanation is error-free or current. You are responsible for verifying clinical information against authoritative sources before relying on it.

If you find a question that appears incorrect, please email support@nexrara.com. We'll review and update as needed.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the App stores on your device and confirms that we do not collect it. It is part of these Terms.

8. Updates and availability

We may update the App, add or remove content, or change features at any time. We may discontinue the App with reasonable notice. Lifetime purchases apply to the App for as long as it is available on the App Store and are not a guarantee of perpetual availability.

9. Termination

We may revoke your license if you materially violate these Terms or use the App in a way that harms us, our users, or third parties. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it, which also removes all your study data from the device.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL HELP YOU PASS THE NCLEX.

We do not warrant that the App's content reflects the latest NCSBN specifications at all times. Exam content evolves; we update on a best-effort basis.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, NEXRARA AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • your use of (or inability to use) the App;
  • any reliance you place on information in the App, including the readiness score or mock exam prediction;
  • the outcome of your NCLEX exam or licensure attempt;
  • loss of study data stored on your device.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Aegis Pro in the 12 months prior to the claim, or (b) US $10.

12. Apple-specific terms

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Nexrara, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to that venue.

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants you rights to bring a claim in your local courts, nothing in this section waives those rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted in-app on next launch. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
